FAQ

1. What subjects do you offer tutoring in?

We offer tutoring in a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to:

  • Math (from elementary to advanced levels like algebra, calculus, and geometry, statistics)
  • Science (biology, chemistry, physics, and more)
  • SAT/ACT and other standardized test preparation
  • Special education support, including ADHD-focused tutoring

2. How are your tutors qualified?

Our tutors are experts in their subject areas, typically with a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree. Each tutor undergoes a screening process, including background checks, interviews, and teaching assessments, to ensure they meet our standards. After hiring, Tutors undergo a training period where they are observed and given specific training on how to tutor to help students develop the skills to succeed on their own.

3. Do you offer online tutoring?

Yes, we offer both in-person and online tutoring options. For in-person meeting we can meet at our office or in your home. Whether you prefer face-to-face tutoring or the convenience of online sessions, we have flexible options to meet your needs.

4. How does online tutoring work?

Our online tutoring sessions are conducted via a secure video conferencing platform. Students and tutors can share screens, use digital whiteboards, and work on problems in real time. It’s an interactive experience designed to mimic in-person tutoring as closely as possible.

5. How is the tutoring program tailored to my child’s needs?

We believe in personalized tutoring. During our first lesson, we assess your child’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. Based on this assessment, we customized our lessons to meet your specific goals. We also provide ongoing feedback to ensure progress is being made.

6. Do you offer tutoring for students with special needs?

Yes, we offer specialized tutoring for students with ADHD, Dyscalculia, Autism and other learning differences. We approach each student as a unique individual and adjust our lessons and tutoring styles to utilize their unique strengths. Our tutors are trained in strategies that help students succeed, including breaking tasks into smaller steps, using hands-on learning techniques, taking breaks, and providing additional structure and support.

7. How often are tutoring sessions scheduled?

Tutoring sessions are scheduled based on the student’s needs and availability. We offer flexible scheduling, including weekly, bi-weekly, or as-needed sessions. Sessions can range from 45 minutes to two hours, depending on what works best for the student.

8. How do I get started with tutoring?

Getting started is easy! Simply contact us via phone, email, or Book Here. During the first lesson, we’ll assess your child’s needs, discuss goals, and start working on some of their current work.

9. What are your tutoring rates?

Our rates vary depending on the subject, the tutor’s qualifications, and travel fees (if applicable). Please contact us for detailed pricing information tailored to your specific needs.

10. What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged for the session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

11. How will I know if tutoring is helping my child?

You’re always welcome to ask your tutor for updates or let us know if you’d like regular updates. Most parents notice a decrease in anxiety around the subject and often an improvement in grades.

12. Can I request a specific tutor?

Yes, if you have a preference for a specific tutor you can select them through the online booking platform or let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request. We match students with the tutor who best fits their learning style and academic needs.

13. Do you offer group tutoring sessions?

Yes, we offer both individual and small group tutoring sessions. Group tutoring can be a more affordable option and is ideal for students who thrive in collaborative learning environments. Our group tutoring is currently by request only.

14. How long is each tutoring session?

Sessions typically last between 60 and 90 minutes, but we can adjust the length based on your child’s needs and attention span. For younger students, shorter sessions (45 minutes) may be more effective.

15. Is there a long-term commitment required?

No, we do not require long-term commitments. We believe the goal of tutoring is to help the student have the skills and confidence to succeed without us, and don’t believe having long-term contracts serves that goal. You can schedule sessions as-needed or schedule recurring lessons. We strive to be as flexible as possible to meet your needs.

If you have any additional questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to helping your student succeed!
